“ Wow the food is so good. This place is sort of a fusion place being Mexican and basque. They make their own chorizo, and you can buy it in bulk. I wanted to try a lamb dish, but I am a sucker for a Chilli relleno. And since I wanted to try the chorizo I ordered a Chilli relleno and a chorizo taco. I brought a bulk package of chorizo home with me also.the service is quick and such nice welcoming people working there. The dining room is pretty packed, there were only 2 tables open. Apparently the locals know this place is great. I heard that if you go during the weekend, be prepared to be wait listed. ”

“ I sang for the first time and loved it! We went for brunch and the menu has a wide variety of food options to choose from, which is nice for everyone in your party. All of us loved what we got and I already have my options picked for next time! Plus the staff were all very friendly and the atmosphere felt very family friendly. You can also get meats, cheeses, and tamales to go! I highly recommend buying some of their frozen chorizo tamales - so good for a quick dinner! ”

“ Villa Basque gets great reviews. While I don't disagree, I think a four star rating is more than enough. Upon walking in, I loved the small market and all of the items you can take to go, including the chorizo. I was asked if I wanted to order to go or eat in and was then told to just sit anywhere. I looked at the menu for awhile and they have some classic dishes as well as some more classic basque and Hispanic options. Most dishes were priced on the higher end. I settled on the breakfast sandwich and some black coffee. My bill was over $20 with tip. I do feel that for what I ordered and the quality I received, that price is a bit high. The inside of Villa Basque is fine. It has plenty of seating and you can see the kitchen area, pastries, and fresh juicing station. Somewhat fun to watch all the action happen while eating or waiting to be served. The service was good. Friendly staff, but not exceedingly special. I appreciated the one gentlemen who refilled my coffee several times and cracked some jokes while he was at it. I would certainly come back here and try some more menu items. Perhaps I just didn't get the right thing. But, overall, I think Villa Basque is a competitive breakfast/brunch option in Carson City but not the best. Check it out and see what you think! ”

“ This was my second visit here yesterday. I wanted to make another visit before doing a review. Our first visit was more of a business meeting. So I didn't feel I had the time to give the menu a good look over and appreciate the good food. I read several of the reviews and this looked to be a great place to visit. It isn't hard to find and it has that old country villa style to it. From the building to the inside. As you walk in the is a front seating area and a seating area in the back of the building. That is where there looks to be a deli of sorts. Where you can take home different kinds of meat or other items you may want. They also have refrigerators in the front seating area stocked with different items. Both visits were very good. A gentleman seated us and he has a great sense of humor. It kind of catches you off guard. Like he's a smart ass. But he's really cool. There's also a waitress who has a great personality as well. I find the service here very good. The first visit I ordered the chorizo with eggs. It comes with beans and rice and tortillas. I figured since they're famous for chorizo I would make that my choice. The wife ordered the brisket hash with eggs and potatoes. The food didn't take too long and it looked pretty good as it arrived. Although mine looked like it had been sitting for a while. I figured they were working on my wife's order and wanted to bring them at the same time. Not a big deal. Because the food was great. Wife didn't care for the brisket hash. But I thought it was good. This was just too different for her I guess. We came away thinking this visit was just ok and thought we would come back another day and try it again. Which we did yesterday. This time I chose the chicken fried steak with eggs and potatoes. Wifey ordered the enchilada stack. I believe that's what it was called. This was definitely a great meal. I'm glad we came back to try something else off of the menu. Bcz I really like this place. I'm sure we will become regulars here. This is a must stop if you are in the area. ”

“ I know that I have raved about Pete's place before but I had my favorite burger there recently (yup, the one with a spicy basque chorizo patty along with beef patty) so incredibly good!!!! My daughter and I split this big boy and still can't finish it. Also took home a ton of frozen chorizo and even some fresh rolls. I love the freezers in front room. Makes Christmas gift giving easy. I'm a stupidly big fan of the spicy basque chorizo here, it's over the top delicious. Sometimes I wake up thinking about the stuff. Nice selection of basque imports too. It's at best a no frills cafeteria looking place in dining area, but longtime staff is so great and food/friendly atmosphere is simply old Nevada at its best. Always clean and always packed. Not sure what Pete adds to his chorizo that makes it so good (think it's love). I love my burgers and having an In and Out in Carson makes my visits, but I simply cannot visit our capital city without a visit to Pete's for an epic meal and great memories. ”
